AGTC USA GYMNASTICS WOMEN’S ARTISTIC TEAM PROGRAM
The Women’s Artistic USA Gymnastics program (formerly named the Junior Olympic program) at Atlantic was incorporated into our team program upon the gym's initial opening in 1994 by owner Tony Retrosi and coach Cori Cunningham.
The USA Gymnastics program at Atlantic has achieved much success at the Regional and National level through the highest levels of competition (Levels 9 and 10). Team Atlantic has placed dozens of gymnasts on NCAA teams over the past two decades. We strive to provide the very best training with our staff of experienced, educated coaches and our well equipped facility.
The J.O. program begins with invitation-based Level 1 and Level 2 classes. These levels compete in regional/local meets and attend a State Championship meet. From there, athletes strive to progress in skill from Level 3 all the way through Level 10. The USA Gymnastics program demands a large commitment of time and effort from both athletes and their families. Typically, gymnasts in this program do gymnastics as their exclusive sport. They plan to give gymnastics and academics their 100% attention and they rarely participate in other sports. Reaching Level 8, 9, or 10 is a significant achievement that only the most dedicated, committed, and skilled athletes are able to attain. Our JO team members have the option to compete locally, regionally, and nationally.

**Currently we are only competing Level 8,9,10 in the USA Gymnastics Program. Level 1-7 athletes are competing under NGA rules.

AGTC USA GYMNASTICS Xcel TEAM PROGRAM

Atlantic Gymnastics offers an alternate, competitive USA Gymnastics program called Xcel. Competing in the Xcel divisions provides gymnasts with the opportunity to be a part of a team that focuses on the enjoyment of participation in challenging gymnastics practice and gymnastics competition.

At Atlantic Gymnastics, our Xcel team gives gymnasts a chance to train in a team setting with less of a time commitment. Xcel gymnasts are excellent athletes who also participate in other sports or extracurricular activities, but still want the challenge and opportunities that a gymnastics team experience can offer. Our Xcel team members have the option to compete locally, regionally, and nationally. Gymnasts may be invited from upper level recreational classes or Team Level 1 and 2 onto our Xcel team when they have reached the necessary level of mental and physical readiness.

**Currently our Xcel team athletes are competing under NGA rules.

NATIONAL GYMNASTICS ASSOCIATION (NGA) TEAM PROGRAM

In 2020, Atlantic Gymnastics teams started competing under a new governing body. NGA rules are very similar to USAG rules and there are compatible levels for the current Artistic Team and Xcel Team members. Level 1-10 and all of the Xcel levels are competing in Virtual Competitions that are hosted at our gym and video streamed to judges. They are also competing at local meets with other NH gymnastics clubs that are using the NGA rules. NGA offers state, regional, and national competition opportunities.

Apparel and Gear!

F.A.Q.'s

Can my child take a break from team but still come back?

Technically yes. However,  if you are part of our team program payment is required for tuition whether you are coming to practice or not.

Can I get new apparel after the meet season started?

Often the answer is no. We put in orders specifically for the number of team members we have. We do sometimes have extra apparel and can accommodate a late order submission.

Is it possible to get a refund for a meet we signed up for?

It depends when you ask. Often times meets have a withdraw date for cancellation of a participant. If we are able to get a refund from the host gym we can refund the fee partially.

Is my child required to wear a mask during her workout?

Our athletes are not required to wear a mask while they are actively engaged in gymnastics.

Can my daughter do a makeup for her missed practice?

We do not often allow makeups for missed practice. Contact your coach if there are extenuating circumstances and your child will need to miss a significant amount of her practice times.

How does my child qualify for the team program?

Our students that are in our program are invited to the team program if they show specific skills and requirements.
